First of all, here is the Republic Act No. 8750 which was entitled as “Seat Belts Use Act of 1999“.
This law requires mandatory compliance of all the motorists’ either of private and public vehicles to use seat belt devices, and this law further require all vehicle manufacturers to install or put seat belt devices in all of their manufactured vehicles. Second we have Republic Act No. 4136, known as the “Land Transportation and Traffic Code“.
An act to compile the laws relative to land transportation and traffic rules, to create a land transportation commission and for other purposes.
The provisions of this law shall control and apply to the registration and operation of motor vehicles, including the licensing of owners, dealers, conductors, drivers, and similar matters.
Third we have a law called as the “Limited Access Highway Facilities Act” or the Republic Act No. 2000.
An act that is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and for the promotion of the general welfare. This law gives power to Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) to declare the North and South Luzon Expressways as Limited Access Highway Facilities. Whereby, banning motorcycles, tricycles, and bicycles roaming within the Expressway or these vehicles shall not be allowed in the Expressway at any time.
Fourth, the Republic Act No. 8794 or the MV Users’ Charge Law popularly known as Road User’s Tax!
An act imposing a Motor Vehicle User’s Charge on owners of all types of Motor Vehicles and other purposes. The proceeds of this law are for road and pedestrian safety.
